About St Francis’ Hospital
St Francis’ Mission Hospital is a third level hospital with a bed capacity of 490. It is the largest mission hospital in Zambia with a workforce of approximately 700. It was founded in 1948 as an Anglican hospital by Father Dr. Francis Trefusis.
It is located in Katete on the Great East Road frontage in the Eastern Province of Zambia, about 500 km from Lusaka, nearly 5 km from Katete Central business area, and 10 km from Katete District Administrative Offices and about 90 km from Chipata, the Provincial capital.
